Long-term, appreciated securities (i.e. stocks, bonds and mutual fund shares) used as a gift offer significant tax benefits to the donor. In addition to being exempt from capital gains taxes, securities that were owned for more than one year give the donor a charitable income tax deduction equal to the market value of the securities on the date of their receipt by the School for up to 30% of the donor’s adjusted gross income. For more information concerning gifts of appreciated securities or to discuss planned giving, please contact our office at (361) 991-6004 or email academy@aca-cc.org.

A person or family may elect to create a named fund in someone’s memory or honor at ACA with any amount. Named funds are generally used for scholarships and tuition assistance purposes. Recurring donations received are held in an account to benefit the purpose of the fund named in the gift agreement. However, money is not invested and therefore is not considered an endowment. For more information on creating a named fund, please contact our office at (361)991-6004 or email academy@aca-cc.org.
