Welcome to Imago Dei at Annapolis Christian Academy
The Imago Dei Program at Annapolis Christian Academy is dedicated to providing a Classical Christian education for students with learning and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to glorify God by offering a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where every child is valued as being made in the image of God. We aim to help each student grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, in partnership with their families.
Imago Dei serves Kindergarten through 8th grade students in a multi-level classroom tailored to meet diverse needs. With a small class size and a low student-to-teacher ratio, we provide individualized educational plans, differentiated pacing, and multi-modal instruction to ensure each child’s success. Our program incorporates daily Bible teaching and integrates biblical principles throughout our curriculum. Students enjoy a rich educational experience with activities such as art, music, physical education, chapel, and special programs designed to develop life skills and foster creativity.
Key features of the Imago Dei Program include:
- Small Class Sizes & Low Student-Teacher Ratios: Personalized attention to support each child’s growth.
- Individualized Educational Plans: Customized goals and strategies to help students progress in all areas.
- Inclusion Opportunities: Students engage with their peers in general education activities, building compassion and understanding while being supported as needed.
- Multi-Modal Learning & Experiential Activities: Hands-on learning approaches that cater to various learning styles.
- Behavioral & Therapeutic Support: Applied behavioral support and optional coordination with external therapists during the school day.
- Regular Parent Communication: Daily updates, ongoing progress reports, and a collaborative approach with families to ensure a supportive learning experience.
Imago Dei’s approach is holistic and community-focused, emphasizing the importance of partnering with parents and outside support services to best meet each child’s needs. Our goal is to help students become young men and women of virtue, courage, and independence, ready to thrive within the vibrant culture of Annapolis Christian Academy.
