Members of the Annapolis school board consist of current and past parents and grandparents, alumni and interested community members who are passionate about the mission of the academy and committed to ensuring its prosperous future.  The Annapolis board works closely with the Heads of School to provide the necessary resources for the school to fulfill its mission and engages in long term strategic planning to ensure a prosperous future.

About Our Board Members

Rob George (President)
Rob is Jan’s husband, and they have three children: Lucy (9th), Clarey (7th), and Tres (Imago Dei/4th).  He is an active member of City Church and Attorney at Liles White PLLC.  Rob earned his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University and enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, reading South Texas History, podcasting, and promoting Corpus Christi.  He is also President of the Rise School of Corpus Christi, a fully inclusive preschool for children of all abilities.  Rob has been intrigued by classical Christian education since law school, and his and Jan’s desire to enroll their children at Annapolis was one of the primary motivators in their decision to make Corpus Christi their home.  Rob has served on the board since 2016.
 
Tony Liefer (Vice President)
Tony has been married to Martisha for 27 years.  They found Annapolis shortly after moving back to Corpus from San Diego, CA in 2007.  Martisha began helping in ACA’s Physical Education program and was Athletic Director for 15 years. They joined the ACA school and community for their then two children Maya(22) and Brendan (19) who both attended ACA from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Both Maya and Brendan are attending College at A&M College Station.  Tony and Martisha currently have three younger children Darrian (8th), Dailon (4th) and Teagan (2nd) attending ACA.  Tony grew up in the Midwest but got to Texas as fast as he could. After completing his undergraduate in Psychology at TAMU he and Martisha relocated to California. There Tony received his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Tony has worked for several social service organizations and has been a Hearing Officer for the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for 11 years.  The Liefers are active members of Church Unlimited.  Tony enjoys working out, woodworking, and attending their kids sporting events. 
 
Lane Pepper (Treasurer)
Lane has been married to Paula for 18 years and is the father of Lance (11th) and Layton (8th).  He is highly involved at City Church, where he serves as a trustee and deacon.  Lane is employed as Chief Financial Officer at Texas Farm Credit.  He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Financial Management and earned an MBA with Finance concentration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  He has also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  Lane enjoys playing sports with his boys, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.  He believes that raising children into thoughtful young adults with a distinctively Christian worldview is the duty of all Christian parents.  Lane has served on the ACA board since 2016.
 
Amy West (Secretary & Chair of the Finance Committee)
Amy is a graduate of Texas A&M University and serves as VP Enterprise Risk Management at Texas Farm Credit. She has been married to her best friend, Jake, since 2007. Together they are blessed with four daughters: Kenedy (5th grade), Cameran (4th), Blakely (PreK4), and Harper (2 years old). As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, raising livestock, participating in 4H, and are heavily involved in their church, The Grove First Baptist Church in Orange Grove. Amy serves as Treasurer for their church and also is Chair of the Finance Committee for ACA. Their prayerful search for the right Christian education for their girls led them to Annapolis, and they are so thankful to be a part of the ACA family.
 
Natalie O’Roark
Natalie has been married to Charles for 16 years, and together they have one daughter, Ava (9th).  Natalie and Charles are native Houstonians and made Rockport, Texas their home in 2020 after touring Annapolis and learning about Classical Christian Education.  Natalie earned a BBA in marketing from the University of Houston and has been in the nonprofit healthcare industry for nearly 20 years.  For the past 10 years, she has served as the Executive Director of Texas Oncology Foundation where she is responsible for operational management, program development and implementation, and financial management including all fundraising efforts.  The O’Roarks are active members at Coast Oaks Church where Natalie serves as a ministry leader for the Missions team.  Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, fishing, traveling, and serving ministries that further His Kingdom.
 
Nathan Brushe
Nathan and his wife, Heather, are members of First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, and have been affiliated with the school for the past decade.  Heather has previously served as a teacher at Annapolis.  They currently have a daughter and son at Annapolis (9th and 6th grade) with a younger daughter starting in a couple years.  Nathan has been a regular and reliable volunteer, including providing fire safety and other emergency training for Annapolis staff.  He is a graduate of Texas Baptist College and serves as Emergency Response Captain at Flint Hills Resources.
